Derek Scheich

Coach Scheich will be in his 3rd season with the Lincoln Southwest Boys Soccer Program since becoming the Head Coach in the Spring of 2017. This will be his 8th year overall coaching at Lincoln Southwest.

Prior to this, Coach Scheich worked as the Reserve Head Coach and Varsity Assistant with the Lincoln Southwest Girls Soccer Program for 5 seasons from 2012-2016. During his tenure as an Assistant with the LSW Girls Program, the team won 5 District Titles, and made 5 State Tournament Appearances, reaching the Semi-Finals back-to-back in the final two years.

The LSW Boys Soccer Program has continued its strong tradition of success by accomplishing the following during Coach Scheich's time with the team:
Overall Record: 28 Wins, 7 Losses
- 1 LPS City Championship (2018)
- 2 HAC Conference Regular Season Championships (2017, 2018)
- 1 HAC Conference Tournament Championship (2018)
- 1 District A-4 Championship (2018)
- 1 State Tournament Appearance (2018)
- 1 State Tournament Semi-Final Appearance (2018)
- 1 HAC Conference Tournament Runner-Up (2017)
- 1 District A-7 Runner-Up (2017)

In addition to this, during Coach Scheich's tenure as the LSW Boys Soccer Head Coach, he has had the honor of helping coach players achieve the following individual recognitions:
- 2 All-Nebraska Super-State Selections
- 2 Nebraska All-State Selections
- 10 All-State Honorable Mention Selections
- 12 HAC All-Conference Selections
- 10 Academic All-State Selections
- 2 National Merit Scholarship Finalists
- 8 Collegiate Scholarship players

At Southwest, Coach Scheich teaches in the Social Studies Department. His subjects include AP Macroeconomics, World History, Geography, and Government & Politics.

During his free time, Coach Scheich enjoys Strength and Conditioning Training, spending time with his wife and family, friends, dog, cheering on The Philadelphia Eagles and Liverpool FC, and traveling.

Junior Varsity Head Coach
Contact Coach Rosenberger

Coach Rosenberger will be in his 10th year with Lincoln Southwest and in his 11th year coaching overall. 

Coach R was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and began playing soccer at a very young age. This love for the game continued into high school where Coach R was a three year letterman for the Lincoln Southeast Knights.

After graduating high school, Coach R attended Truman State University where he graduated with a BA in English. Soon after graduating, Coach R was hired to teach English at Lincoln Southwest High School, and he started his coaching career soon thereafter. During Coach R's time at Southwest, he studied hard and eventually received an Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
In 2007 Coach R made the trek to the Kansas City area where he taught and coached at Blue Valley North High School. His primary position was coaching the freshmen and sophomores, but he also assisted with the varsity club. Coach R was fortunate to be a part of a state championship team in the Fall of 2007, as well as a runner-up club in the Fall of 2010.

In 2011 Coach R found his way back to Lincoln, NE, and he is currently teaching English at Lincoln East High School. Coach R is married to his lovely wife Kate, and he has two sons Finn and Henry.

Taylor Taege
Reserve Head Coach
Coach Taege will be heading into his 6th season as Reserve Head Coach.
In 2018, Coach Taege guided the Reserve squad to an Undefeated 13-0 Record and the LPS Reserve City Title.

Matt Hamilton
Varsity Volunteer Assistant Coach - Goalkeepers
 An All-Nebraska Super-State Selection in both 2014 and 2015, Coach Hamilton returns to Southwest after a   distinguished High School career to help coach the Goalkeepers. He is currently pursuing a Business Degree  at UNL. Coach Hamilton helped guide the Silverhawks as the No. 1 Goalkeeper to the Class A State Championship in 2014.

Varsity Volunteer Assistant Coach - Defenders
 An All-Nebraska Super-State Selection in 2015, Coach Scalora returns to Southwest after a distinguished    playing career for LSW and Doane College to help coach the Defenders. He is currently completing his degree at Doane College in Biological Engineering. Coach Scalora  helped guide the Silverhawks as a Centerback to the Class A State Championship in 2014.
